Garlock-French is proud to install EUROSHIELD® Roofing Products, a line of rubber roofing shingles that is both tough and environmentally-friendly. These rubber roofing systems were researched and developed nearly two decades ago in Calgary, Canada, and are unique in that they are manufactured primarily from recycled tires. Anywhere from 250 to 1,000 rubber tires are used in the production of a EUROSHIELD roof for an average-sized home! In addition, rubber scrap material that results from the installation process can be recycled into new material, virtually eliminating job site waste.
Unsurpassed Impact Resistance
The impact resistance of EUROSHIELD rubber roofing is second to none. In a test designed to simulated hail impact on EUROSHIELD using an air cannon firing two-inch hail at 183mph and three-inch hail at 138mph, there was absolutely no damage to the panels. See for yourself!
How EUROSHIELD® is Made
To create EUROSHIELD products, recycled rubber is combined with other proprietary ingredients. The mixture is injection-molded and formed under extreme pressure. After the shingle is released from the mold, it is inspected and hand-trimmed. Because the color extends through the product, EUROSHIELD shingles stay looking new throughout their lifespan. Colors include Saxon Black, Woodlands Brown and Silverwood (Grey).
EUROSHIELD manufactures two roofing profiles, slate and shake. EuroSlate and EuroShake are the thicker, heavier profiles, while EuroLite Slate and EuroLite Shake have a thinner, lighter profile. All EUROSHIELD products are manufactured from approximately 95% recycled materials and include the same life expectancy and a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
- EuroShake®. EuroShake is designed to replicate the look and texture of a genuine taper-sawn or hand-split cedar roof. It provides the look of a wood roof without the worries of premature failure due to rotting, cracking and warping.
- EuroLite Shake®. EuroLite Shake mimics the profile of a thinner genuine cedar shingle or shake roof. It includes an adhesive strip similar to that used on asphalt shingles for quick and easy installation.
- EuroSlate®. EuroSlate replicates the look and texture of heavy chiseled-edge slate, without the high cost and extreme weight that comes with real slate. Original EuroSlate is ¾-inch thick and creates a finished roof with a substantial look.
- EuroLite Slate®. EuroLite Slate is 3/8-inch thick and accurately replicates the look of New England or Vermont slate. It features an adhesive strip similar to that used on asphalt shingles for fast and easy installation.
